628日,由安徽省城建设计研究总院有限公司主办,坦萨土工合成材料(中国)有限公司协办,美国堪萨斯大学韩杰教授主讲的坦萨土体加筋和地基加固技术研讨会在安徽省城建设计研究总院有限公司六层会议室隆重举行。

研讨会由安徽省城建设计研究总院有限公司地下空间设计研究中心领导主持,包括安徽省城建设计研究总院、安徽省交通规划设计研究总院及各自下属分院所领导,安徽省内其它相关设计院工程技术人员,坦萨安徽总代理—安徽云鼎复合材料有限公司领导及坦萨中国主要负责人员在内的近40人参加了此次技术交流。

 韩杰教授从土工合成材料产品及功能、加筋和加固机理、加筋土边坡、加筋土挡墙案例及美国设计方法、地震对加筋土结构的影响、格栅加固道路路堤的应用简介、无罩面道路路面加固方法和试验研究、格栅加固道路路面的设计方法简介等多个方面展开详细论述,韩教授严谨的学术和工作作风及细致入微的精彩讲授,给与会人员留下了深刻的印象。

 讲座结束后,来自各设计院的工程技术人员还就加筋土挡墙和软基加固等感兴趣的问题多次提问,并与韩教授进行了广泛的技术讨论和头脑风暴似的创新应用探讨和交流。

 韩杰教授是美国堪萨斯大学 (The University of Kansas) 土木、环境与建筑工程系终身 Glenn L. Parker 冠名正教授,曾在坦萨美国公司多个职位工作过。

On June 28, 2017, a technical seminar sponsored by Anhui Urban Construction Design Institute Co., Ltd, co-organized by Tensar Geosynthetic(China)Ltd and lectured by Professor Jie Han from The University of Kansas in the United States was grandly held in the conference room of AUCDI. 

The seminar was presided over by the Vice Chief Engineer from AUCDI and there are nearly 40 participants for it, including the leaders from Anhui Urban Construction Design Institute, Co., Ltd., Anhui Transport Consulting & Design Institute Co., Ltd. and their branch institutes, the engineering technicians from other related design institutes in Anhui Province, the leaders of TGC and the principals of TGC distributor in Anhui.

Professor Jie Han expanded his detailed explanation from many respects, such as geosynthetic products and functions, reinforcement & stabilisation mechanism, case studies of reinforced slope&retaining wall with American design methods, the effect of earthquake on reinforced soil structure, brief introduction of application of the grids reinforced road embankment, etc. Professor Han's rigorous academic and working style and meticulous and wonderful lecture left a profound impression for all participants.

After the lecture, the engineering technicians from various design institutes asked questions about some topics they interested in, and then conducted wide technical discussions & brainstorm-like innovative application exploration and communication with Prof. Han.

Dr. Jie Han is the tenured full professor at Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering at The University of Kansas, he is a licensed P.E. in Civil Engineering in Georgia and the former president of The International Association of Chinese Infrastructure Professionals (IACIP); he was awarded the Chang Jiang Lecture Scholar by the Ministry of Education of China (Tongji University) in 2013 and was elected as an ASCE Fellow in 2014.

Dr. Jie Han has obtained a series of significant and innovative achievements in such fields as the theory and calculation method of advanced geosynthetics, design theory of reinforced slope&retaining wall, highway embankment settlement control and stability evaluation theory, etc. and published more than 300 high level academic papers, among which there are about 200 SCI and EI papers. His main achievements have been included in American industrial design standard & specification, monographs, textbooks and design software, and widely applied in various major projects around the world. 

In 2017, ASCE granted the Martin Kapp Award to Dr. Jie Han and he is the first scholar of Chinese descent winning this award which is granted to at most one person in each year. This award, with a high reputation in the international civil engineering field, is set for commemorating Martin S. Kapp (1924-1972), a distinguished American engineer and awarded to the individuals solving the major engineering problems in the basic engineering field of civil engineering and obtaining enormous economic benefits thereby.
